Under all of it he was a blues player to the core, and this set gathers his bluest Verve sides with George Benson, Stanley Turrentine, Kenny Burrell and Oliver Nelson along for the ride: Hobo Flats, I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man, T-Bone Steak, Trouble In Mind, The Sermon and Grabbin' Hold. The fold-out booklet carries a full liner essay, behind a cover collaged from vintage baseball cards.
Disc is in Excellent Plus condition. Back insert is clean and sharp. The booklet shows a small black ink scribble on the front side, and a few dents along the sides from the plastic holders.

Curated by Collectors, for Collectors.
