Guitarist Charlie Byrd came back from a 1961 State Department tour of Brazil full of the new sound from Rio, and in February 1962 he and Stan Getz cut this album in a single day in a Washington church hall. Desafinado became a hit single, won Getz a Grammy, and the album went all the way to number one on the pop chart. Also here: Samba Dees Days, O Pato, Samba Triste, One Note Samba, E Luxo So and Baia. Within a year Getz and João Gilberto would follow it with The Girl From Ipanema.\nDisc is in Excellent Plus condition.
