About the album

Released in 1983, Infidels was seen as Bob Dylan's return to secular music after three evangelical records, and the critical reaction was the strongest he'd had in years. Produced by Dylan and Mark Knopfler, who also plays guitar, the album pairs Dylan with guitarist Mick Taylor and the rhythm section of Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare. Side one runs "Jokerman," "Sweetheart Like You," "Neighborhood Bully" and "License To Kill." "Blind Willie McTell" was cut just before mastering, which disappointed fans and critics, and it wasn't officially released until The Bootleg Series Volume III eight years later.
