About the album

Released in December 1970 as the follow-up to Trout Mask Replica, Lick My Decals Off, Baby finds Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band writing musical lines that tend to be longer and more intricate than the short fragments that characterized much of the earlier record. Zoot Horn Rollo plays guitar and glass finger guitar, Rockette Morton plays bass, and Art Tripp adds marimba and percussion, with Drumbo also on drums and percussion. Tracks like the title cut, "I Love You, You Big Dummy" and "Bellerin' Plain" reward close listening. It was Van Vliet's own favorite of his albums.

Hard to find copy. Media looks in Near Mint condition. Case / insert / booklet are: Excellent Plus (EX+): original case shows normal shelf wear and age, not cracked not broken, works like it's supposed to. Booklet is clean, but there are 2 deep dents on the right side from the plastic holders, and a deep crease/dent between those 2 deep dents! Please see pictures, what you see is what you get. Overall in Excellent Plus condition
