About the album
Released in March 1984, About Face was David Gilmour's second solo studio album, recorded at a time when Pink Floyd's future was uncertain. Co-produced by Bob Ezrin and Gilmour and recorded in 1983 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, it features Jeff Porcaro, Pino Palladino, Jon Lord and Steve Winwood, with lyrics by Pete Townshend on two tracks. "Blue Light" and "Love on the Air" were the two singles; "Blue Light" peaked at number 62 in the United States, while "Love on the Air" failed to chart.
