About the album
The second recording by the reformed Mark II lineup, The House of Blue Light arrived in 1987 with Ian Gillan, Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Roger Glover and Ian Paice. The sessions were long and difficult, with strained relations in the band, and Jon Lord later said they made the mistake of trying to make their music current.
