Collector Notes: The Queen of the Blues paying tribute to the Empress. Dinah Washington grew up on Bessie Smith's records, and in 1958 she cut this salute to her with a hot small band, swinging the old songs instead of copying them: After You've Gone, Send Me To The 'Lectric Chair, Jailhouse Blues, Back Water Blues, Me And My Gin, Careless Love, If I Could Be With You, Fine Fat Daddy, You've Been A Good Ole Wagon and Trombone Butter. Part of the EmArcy Great American Songbooks series. Disc is in Excellent Plus condition. Booklet shows dents along the top/bottom sides from the plastic holders, and a deep dent in the middle.
