About the album

Released in 1973, Desperado was the Eagles' second studio album, drawing on Old West outlaw themes to draw parallels with life in a rock-and-roll band. Produced by Glyn Johns, it is now considered by some critics to be one of the significant albums of country rock. Commercially it underperformed on release, yet its reputation grew over the years as later albums spurred its sales. The title track is one of the Eagles' signature songs even though it was never released as a single; the album's two singles were "Tequila Sunrise" and "Outlaw Man", which reached number 64 and number 59.
