Collector Notes: The first Elton John number one album in America, recorded in eleven days at the Chateau d'Herouville outside Paris in January 1972: Honky Cat, Mellow, I Think I'm Going To Kill Myself, Susie (Dramas), Rocket Man, Salvation, Slave, Amy, Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters, Hercules. Jean-Luc Ponty's violin on Mellow and Amy, and the first record where Elton's touring band played the whole album. This is the 1995 Classic Years remaster on Rocket with the bonus track Slave in its original version. Jewel case with the booklet. Disc is in near mint condition, booklet and rear insert are clean and sharp, show minimal signs of wear. Top Copy!
