About the album
Pearl arrived in January 1971, three months after Janis Joplin's death in October 1970. Backed by the Full Tilt Boogie Band, she sounds more polished here than on her records with Big Brother and the Holding Company and the Kozmic Blues Band, with blues rock and soul in the mix. It includes "Me and Bobby McGee," the number one hit written by Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster, alongside "Cry Baby," "Get It While You Can" and the a cappella "Mercedes Benz." The instrumental "Buried Alive in the Blues" is a backing track on which she had not yet recorded vocals.

CD is: Excellent Plus (EX+) played regularly but with care, shows normal signs of wear, plays and transfers cleanly to any format, with sound that outpaces any streaming platform. Hard to find copy! Media looks in Excellent Plus condition. Case / insert / booklet are: Excellent Plus (EX+): original slipcase shows normal shelf wear, but there are scuffs, scratches and a bit of the plastic is broken off on the back left side. Digipak case shows a few scuffs, but nothing major. Booklet is clean and sharp. Please see pictures, what you see is what you get. Overall in Excellent Plus condition
