About the album

Released in October 1980, Beat Crazy was the last studio album by the Joe Jackson Band's original line-up until 2003's Volume 4. Credited to the Joe Jackson Band, it takes in reggae and ska influences, more pronounced than on the first two albums, with Graham Maby on bass and vocals. Jackson himself singled out the title track and "Biology" as the good stuff on it. Darker than the first two albums, it's the work of a band trying to change its formula without quite knowing how.
