About the album

Released in 1971, Imagine was Lennon's second solo album after the raw, stripped-back Plastic Ono Band, and it found him softening the edges without losing the directness. Co-produced by Lennon, Yoko Ono and Phil Spector, it balances tenderness with bite, from the title track to the attack on Paul McCartney in "How Do You Sleep?" The album includes "Jealous Guy" and "Oh My Love," reached number one on both the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200, and its title track became Lennon's signature song.
