About the album

Released in August 1980, Crimes of Passion was Pat Benatar's second studio album, and it became her best-selling record. Keith Olsen produced and engineered it, and Billboard's 1980 review heard Benatar "in an even more rock vein" than before. "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" is considered her best-known song and became her first top-10 entry in the US, while "You Better Run" was the second music video ever aired on MTV, in 1981. The album also features "Treat Me Right" and the moody "Hell Is for Children." It earned Benatar her first Grammy Award, for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance, in 1981.
