About the album

Released in 2002, Border Girl was Paulina Rubio's first English-language album, arriving after the success of Paulina, the best-selling Latin album of 2001. Rubio worked with a wide range of producers and songwriters, and the record alternates dance-pop numbers with ballads. "Don't Say Goodbye" was the lead single and became her most successful song in English, with a Spanish-language version, "Si Tú Te Vas"; "The One You Love" followed as a single. It stands as a snapshot of a Mexican star reaching for a wider audience with her English-language crossover.
