About the album

Atom Heart Mother was released in 1970. The side-long title suite, built with composer Ron Geesin, folds orchestra and choir into the band's sound, while the second side turns to shorter songs like "If," "Summer '68" and "Fat Old Sun." It gave the group their first UK number one, though members later voiced reservations about it.
