About the album
Moving Pictures, from 1981, is the eighth studio album by the Canadian trio Rush, and the band wrote with a more radio-friendly sound, favouring tighter and shorter song structures than on their earlier albums. Recorded at Le Studio in Morin Heights, Quebec, in October and November 1980, it became the fastest-selling album in the band's catalogue. Side one carries "Tom Sawyer", "Red Barchetta", "YYZ" and "Limelight", and the instrumental "YYZ" was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. "The Camera Eye", which opens side two, was the final song the band included on a studio album with a length of over ten minutes, something that was a frequent occurrence on their earlier albums.
