About the album

Released in 1974, Crime of the Century was Supertramp's commercial breakthrough, following the commercial failure of their first two albums. With a new lineup and Ken Scott co-producing alongside the band, it was built around the songwriting of Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson, two very different personalities. "Dreamer" reached No. 13 on the UK singles chart, while in the US listeners preferred its B-side, "Bloody Well Right", which peaked at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100. "School" was another popular track on album rock radio.
