About the album
Recorded mostly in April, July and August 1969, Abbey Road was the last album The Beatles recorded, even though Let It Be, largely recorded earlier, was released after it. The sessions had a more congenial atmosphere than the Get Back / Let It Be sessions earlier that year, with George Martin producing. Side two's long medley is a notable feature of the album and has been covered as one suite by other artists. George Harrison's "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun" are considered among the best songs he wrote for the group. A graceful, assured parting statement that still rewards close listening.
