About the album

Released in March 1996 as the second of the four Anthology albums, this set gathers rarities, outtakes and live performances from the 1965 sessions for Help! up to the sessions just before the band's trip to India in February 1968. It opens with "Real Love," the second of the two recordings that reunited the Beatles, built on a demo made by John Lennon. Elsewhere, disc two collects work-in-progress versions of Sgt. Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour material, including "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "A Day in the Life," offering a window into how these records took shape.
